Is it a Mudroom, a Pantry or a Shoebox?

Neutral Mini Mudroom | STEPH PIONTKOWSKI INTERIORS

I cannot believe 2016 is already over, it’s really flown by. I always say that, but this year it seems especially true. Wait….I think I always say that too. Ha! I am really looking forward to 2017 though, New Year’s always feel like such a great opportunity to get organized.

We just moved to a new (but very old) house a few months ago and one project I’ve been slowly tackling is creating a functional mudroom. Right now it’s total chaos and definitely not easy on the eyes. It’s the way we primarily enter the house so it needs to hold shoes, purses, keys and have a place to easily put your shoes on. Oh and our pantry is also in there….and our wine cooler….and it’s a whopping 5 feet by 8 feet. It’s super tiny, and we’re also renters so we can’t exactly bump out walls. Good organization and creativity are key in here, and of course on a budget. Here’s what I have in mind for this space.

Woven Shades Natural // Tall Hexagonal Mirror (vintage) // Hanging Planters // White African Mudcloth Pillow // Black African Mudcloth Pillow // Skogsta Bench // Sheepskin Rug // Matte Black Coat Hooks // Leather Wall Pocket // Fretted Diamonds Wool Rug // Ice Bucket (vintage used as umbrella stand) // Knipsa Storage Baskets // Cactus Print

I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions but dang I want to get this room done! I’ll be sure to share it when it’s all done, and maybe some sneak peeks along the way over on my Instagram account @stephpiontkowskiinteriors.
